Our research looks at the real-world experiences of both adults and young people, blending lived experience with academic evidence. We bring together diverse groups - professionals, policymakers, businesses, young people and more - to share perspectives and tackle complex challenges.

Examples of our research
Youth Employability
This report explores the challenges and opportunities within Scotland’s youth employability landscape, highlighting the growing gap between education and the evolving needs of employers. It advocates for a growth mindset approach to help young people develop confidence, resilience and the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Mindset in Care
This report examines how growth mindset programmes in schools and residential care are helping to support care-experienced young people. The findings show that mindset approaches can build confidence, strengthen relationships and begin to shift culture - pointing to what’s needed for lasting change in education and care.
AI in Education Research Report
This report examines whether AI teaching and learning tools can help address current challenges facing Scotland’s education system. It asks if Scotland has the right conditions for responsible and effective implementation of AI in schools and presents stakeholders’ views on both the risks and benefits. It draws upon evidence gathered across eight Scottish local authorities, and research conducted by the University of Edinburgh, Educate Ventures Research, and the dots.
