Bespoke programme development

When adults thrive, so do the children and young people they support.

Whether it’s teachers empowering pupils and students, coaches inspiring athletes, or mentors building confidence, our programmes give adults the knowledge to make a lasting impact.

The result? A stronger workforce, better wellbeing, thriving communities, and a future where everyone can reach their potential

What we do

Our transformative learning programmes offer more than just training - they create space for deep, sustained professional development. Through carefully designed CPD, we support adults to reflect on their role, build new skills and grow their confidence to lead change in the systems around them.

These learning groups are about connection, challenge and real-world impact.

Built on growth mindset - learning through effort and practice, with a trauma-informed - aware of how difficult experiences shape people and wellbeing lens, our programmes help drive innovation, resilience, confidence and improved team working.

How we work

Each programme is co-designed with participants, shaped by the voices of children and young people and grounded in the realities of the systems we work within.

So far, we’ve worked across sectors, including sport, care, early years, education, youth employability, and mentoring.

We tailor every experience to meet the needs of each learning cohort and are always open to developing new programmes in partnership with others.

What people say

Scottish Football Association

“The SFA embedded PCS (Positive Coaching Scotland) coach education programmes, it’s what we do now.

New projects have benefited from the fundamentals of PCS; they are integral to how you operate as a person.”

Corra Foundation

"Feedback on the Mindset in Social Care programme shows that there is definitely a need for this type of support for staff.

Importantly, the MiSCare training provided time and space for reflection, connection and learning; something that people working in this sector truly need.”

Employability Worker, Angus Council

“What I've learned has totally changes the way I look at things.

It has also helped me look differently at the way I deal with other people - from the language I use, through to lessening the assumptions about people’s situations and how they act.”

At Winning Scotland, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. Every programme is co-designed with partners to meet the unique needs of your setting - whether that’s sport, education, care or employability. Below are just a few examples of how we’ve worked collaboratively to create meaningful, lasting change.

Supporting Sports Coaches

Winning Scotland launched Positive Coaching Scotland (PCS) to shift youth sport away from a win-at-all-costs culture and towards developing confidence, resilience, and life skills.

Inspired by a US model but fully adapted for Scotland, PCS supports the key adults around young people - coaches, teachers, parents, and club leaders - to create positive, growth-focused environments.

We worked in partnership with sportscotland, as well as national governing bodies including the Scottish FA and Scottish Rugby, to embed core principles like Honour our Sport, Redefine ‘Winner’, and Fill the Emotional Tank across youth sport.

PCS evolved into PCS Plus, a more agile version shaped by community feedback and real-world need. It’s been delivered across mainstream sport, care settings, and grassroots programmes, always tailored to context.

This adaptability has made PCS a cornerstone of Scotland’s sport for change movement, with lasting impact on coaching culture and young people’s experiences nationwide
