Programme Overview

More Than Mindset involves 150 hours of notional learning across four modules of blended approaches.

It is endorsed by Education Scotland, professionally recognised by the General Teaching Council for Scotland and accredited by Glasgow Caledonian University to carry 30 credits at level 11 on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

Course objectives

  • Provide leadership in the development of growth mindset skills;
  • Offer a transformational educational experience that is engaging, inspiring and challenging;
  • Provide educational support, utilising a blended model of learning;
  • Equip leaders and teachers with the knowledge and skills to develop a positive learning environment.

Course Descriptor

Each module complements the previous one, building a knowledge and understanding of growth mindset, followed by the application of a school based project, specifically designed to meet the needs of each individual school.

  • Duration: 12 months
  • Format: Modular online learning, including online group workshops
  • Key themes covered: Growth mindset strategy; Practical strategies; Building resilience; Embedding mindset across the curriculum

Learning Outcomes

  • Tools to review and improve change strategies for lasting impact.

Impact Stories

In 2024, Lornshill Academy in Clackmannanshire took a whole-team approach to improving school culture with the More Than Mindset programme.

In 2023, at Dumbarton Academy, a PE teacher took part in More Than Mindset to help improve confidence and resilience in his classes.

  • Cost - More Than Mindset costs £300 per person and requires a minimum cohort of 20 participants.
